Lined Crown Snake (Tantilla reticulata)

The Lined Crowned snake (Tantilla reticulata), a member of the Colubridae family, is a small, non venomous snake found in lowland tropical forests of Costa Rica. T. reticulata is a relatively rare species, currently unlisted in the IUCN database. It is a terrestrial and nocturnal species, and although there is no information on feeding habits, it is currently believed to feed on insects and their larvae, similar to other species of Tantilla.
