Currently we have a couple of active projects in their early but well established stages. Many of these project activities are meant to create common ground between the participants of the activities.
Lionfish Harvest and consortium.
Early in the fight against lionfish invasion, FITZ and Project Green Jungle are leading the way in organizing the conservation end of the lionfish harvest and commercialization. When your an organization like Green Jungle, and a problem that fits exactly into your mission and vision like this comes into view, you have to take part. So even though it says “jungle” in our name, we are an organization that creates conservation that is consumer driven.
To that end, we are bringing together some really amazing people and businesses which have exactly the same views and goals as our nonprofit organization.
Caribbean Amphibian Microhabitat Survey
The Caribbean amphibian and microhabitat survey is a complex project which incorporates social, economic, ecological, and commercial goals and visions. By creating objectives and activities which work on the parallel goals of for profit, non profit, educational, and governmental organizations, the microhabitat survey conducts baseline ecological data while creating a renewable sustainable income source to fund capacity building programs for the indigenous tribes of the area.
Consumerism also drives the sustainable funding of this project.
