Everyone here at the Florida International Teaching Zoo, and Project Green Jungle would like to wish everyone a happy holidays and a happy new year. We hope your year was as productive as ours. Check out this video of a nice little D. pumilio dart frog calling from a tree in HD video. Strawberry dart frogs are found all over this region of Costa Rica, and most if not all are red with black markings. La Marina Zoo

On the surface, La Marina Zoo is like many other rehab facilities, but a tour by Juan Jose Rojas Alfaro, the director, reveals a level of intricacy belying its humble appearance. Juan Jose took up the reins as the head of this facility inheriting it from his mother and currently operating it with his wife, son and two daughters. The family has a strong vision of what form conservation efforts in this region should take. photo credit: Armando Maynez One of the best little parks in Costa Rica is on the Caribbean coast, just a short 20 minute bus ride from this little village we call Puerto Viejo. The park is Cahuita National Park, a small but diverse park perfect for hiking, snorkeling or just lounging on the beautiful white or black sand beaches.
